If you missed Biden’s speech today in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, here it is.
You will hear Biden talk with a genuine tone and a sense of humility (something that Trump is unable to do). You will also hear how a real leader talk about social problems. This should come as no surprise though, because Biden is a seasoned politician who knows what adversity is. This is the background that quite frankly should not even be a moot point with Trump’s background and character.
You don’t have to like Joe Biden, but if you think Donald Trump really can make America better you need to ask yourself some serious questions. Ask yourself why it is that Trump is unable to confront Vladimir Putin who is the biggest threat to America’s national security. All the other issues that America cares about, immigration, crime, and other conservative issues pale in comparison to the apparent influence and control that Putin seems to have over Trump.
During the Republican National Convention what was lacking was not so much that Trump had no agenda for the next four years, but that he did not mention the words Putin and Russia a single time. When you juxtapose this to the fact that Putin interfered with the 2016 election and paid the Taliban bounty (Russian bounty scandal) to kill American soldiers in Afghanistan and Trump cannot say a word about these things then you ask yourself if this is right. It is not, and Americans should not see this as something normal.
Trump is trying to exploit the recent protest in Portland, Oregon and Kenosha, Wisconsin by stoking fear to get votes in November. The social unrest is not a new phenomenon, they have been going on long before Donald Trump became president. It is a fact that violence whether its by the police against black people or crime in general have increased on Trump’s watch. And it is true that there has been more race-related protest during the past four years. And the fact is that Donald Trump has not solved or shown real leadership in trying to squelch these problems. Biden is right, what he has done is fan the flames more.
In a different era, this presidential election would have been a foregone conclusion. It would not have been possible for the most corrupt and dangerous president in America’s history to get reelected. But we are living in a different time when the viewpoint of so many people has become so distorted. Instead of seeing the corruption, lies, and unpatriotic behavior, they have been hypnotized to see these things as honesty, truth, and patriotism.
