I’m running in one of the most flippable house districts in Florida, and things are getting heated. For the first time in 20+ years, a democrat (me) has a real chance of winning this seat. We have a 6,000 + Democratic Voter Advantage, and a 2000+ Vote By Mail Advantage. We are doing contact free lit drops, and will be visiting 40,000 doors before November 3rd. We are texting, calling, and working as hard as we possibly can.
Unfortunately, my opponent and the Republican Party of Florida have the financial advantage, and paid $13,750 last month to run these NASTY push polls against me.
These push polls seem almost normal at first, accusing me of just moving to this district (I’ve lived here a third of my life) and pointing out, for no reason, that I have a husband. Classic tactic to let people know I’m gay without stating it directly.
Then they attack my platform and identify me as “radical” and I’d expect nothing less there either.
Where it gets really bizarre, are the follow up and lead up questions.
As you’ll see, they ask things like “The world would be a better place if women supported men more and criticized them less” and “Every woman should have a man to whom she can turn to in times of trouble.”
The most shocking, with regards to women, is that they ask how people feel about the statement “There are many women who get a kick out of seeming sexually available and then refusing male advances.”
The disgusting poll also goes on to ask how people feel about the statement “People are not truly happy in life unless they are romantically involved with a member of the other sex.”
Yeah, gross. This is what I’m up against.
Last but not least and the cherry on top, is the question asking on a scale of one to 5 how people feel about “Coronavirus in the United States is mostly being carried and spread by Asians.”
This is what I’m up against here. This is exactly why I’m running. My opponent has a history of being racist and gross, including making an Islamophobic statement shortly after he was elected.
We’re working hard to flip this seat, but we could use some extra help. If you’d like to volunteer or contribute to our campaign, please visit the links below. Onward to November 3rd.
