If these charges seem familiar it is because they certainly remind me of General Flynn and the attempt to extradite (or kidnap and render) the cleric Gulen to Turkey.
These charges have been brought in federal court in Hawaii and involve Broidy and Bannon's best new yacht owning Chinese friend Guo Wengui.
"Hawaii federal prosecutors charged Nickie Lum Davis with failing to inform the Justice Department that she had been hired by a Malaysian financier with extensive interests in China and who was involved in the billion-dollar 1MDB scandal."
"But in the criminal information, filed August 17 in Hawaii federal district court, prosecutors allege that Davis and a top GOP fundraiser worked together on a complicated scheme to convince high-ranking members of the Trump administration to remove the Chinese dissident from the U.S."
"Court papers do not identify either the GOP fundraiser or the dissident, though the Wall Street Journal reported that they are former Trump Victory Committee Vice Chairman Eliott Broidy and exiled Chinese businessman Guo Wengui."

It does not always happen this way but frequently when the feds file a "criminal information" rather than seeking an indictment that is because the defendant has reached an agreement to cut a deal.
Stay tuned because it is possible that Davis has agreed to a plea and to testify against Broidy or others. This would not be the first time Broidy was involved in seeking millions of dollars for influence. His home was raided pursuant to a search warrant last year and at the time it was assumed that was in connection with Broidy's involvement in funding the inauguration of dt and foreign influence and involvement.
Of course it is also possible that Broidy was caught last year and he has cut a deal to testify. Many here will remember that Broidy has previously been convicted of offenses but that never stopped the RNC or dt from associating with him.
It had also been reported that dt refused to move on the extradition of Wengui when he found out he was a member at one of dt's club.

UPDATE TODAY
After the proceeding in federal court today the question is whether Broidy is next to be charged, whether he has also cut a deal and is turning on Wyatt and others or whether he is riding it out waiting for the pardon from his BFF dt.
In Hawaii today the defendant Nickie Davis entered a plea today to the complaint filed previously in her case.
"According to the documents and people familiar with the matter, Broidy allegedly made various entreaties to people in the administration or close to it, including President Trump’s then-chief of staff, Reince Priebus; his former deputy campaign chairman, Rick Gates; and the president himself.
At one point, Broidy also tried to enlist the help of casino magnate and Trump friend Steve Wynn, according to the documents and the people with knowledge of the case. In August 2017, Broidy and Wynn called Trump from Wynn’s yacht and asked about Guo’s status.
Davis also admitted in court that she connected multiple calls between Wynn and Sun.
Reid Weingarten, an attorney for Wynn, declined to comment but said his client has been cooperating with investigators and continues to do so."

So the new question is whether Broidy, like a good member of the mob family, takes the hit and keeps his mouth shut or talks? My bet is he does not talk although I can't rule out that Barr interfered allowing a plea to the complaint only alleging the allegations in the Davis case and stopping further investigation into the inauguration and the funding and obtaining meetings for foreign nationals.
Davis took $8 million and Broidy was allegedly offered $75 million to his wife's (note not pregnant Playboy girlfriend) law firm if they could help resolve a few other issues for some Malaysian people and make that case go away.
If we count Michael Cohen, Broidy and Wyatt the only one of the RNC former financial co-chairs left to not be under federal criminal investigation is our new Post Master General.
