Today, Wednesday, September 2, 2020, is my birthday.
Not only that, but I am also in the PRIME of my life, as 61 is a prime number.
A lot has happened in the last year.
Most significantly, I am continuing in a teaching credential program and if all goes well I will be employed as a teacher in an elementary school next fall.
I had several kidney stones removed last December. I thought that was a bad time as I was so sore fro about a month that I wondered if I would recover fully.
Then the pandemic came along as we all have enjoyed.
And then I had a heart attack and a stent was inserted into my beating heart and I spent the next few months at home recovering. I still get fatigued easily due to the damage done to my heart combined with the drugs I am taking that give me very low blood pressure. I am doing better now but I still have a long way to go in my recovery.
I don’t have any big plans today. I have a three-hour online class for my teaching credential from 4-7. After that, I will likely cuddle the puppies and kitties and go to bed after watching a few more episodes of “The Legend of Korra”.
I had my third-grade class sing happy birthday to me, and a couple of them drew pictures for me which they showed me online. That was nice.
Life is going better for me now than it has in a long time, but I am still a month away from losing everything if I don’t make my fund-raising goals each month or if I were to have an unexpected emergency, financial, medical, et cetera.
I wonder how my life will be when I am 62 and 63.
When I’m 62, I will be beginning my teaching career, assuming all goes well. When I’m 63, I will hopefully be beginning my second year as a teacher, and I will have sufficient saved resources to have a buffer that I do not now have. Also, I hope I will have my master’s degree as well.
One step at a time.
