Welcome to Woozle Wednesday
Hello Peeps, welcome to our little corner of Woozleville at the PWB Peeps [that’s Pooties (cats), Woozles (dogs), Birdeez (duh), and us Peeps of course].
Yes, it’s Woozle Wednesday, that day of the week when the PWBP Pooties take the day off and the pooches come to the rescue and politely take up the slack — well, those that are trained not to pull on their leashes. Don’t worry, pootie lovers, the kitties insist on making an appearance even though it is supposed to be their day off. They just can’t help putting in their two meows worth. Other critters like birdeez, small pets, farm animals, and sometimes wild creatures, will also make appearances from time to time.
A Shortage of Change?
Senior woozle Miss Sadie’s hoomin was in bit of a tizzy today. She was doing errands and felt the need for a cool refreshing beverage. Miss Sadie, who likes very cold water, could relate. Being a good social distancer, the hoomin put in her order at the drive thru window. Cost of the beverage: $1.09. So far so good. But the restaurant was short on change. In fact, completely out. And even out of single dollar bills! So the hoomin, also short of exact change, had to put this minor purchase on a debit card. Crazy! The hoomin returned home, gave Miss Sadie a quick pat and a cookie while mutter about the change shortage.
Too Much Change or Not Enough?
Generally speaking, many dogs and a lot of cats don’t really care for change. So the woozles are perplexed as to why the Peeps are freaking out about a shortage of change. Calling it a crisis even. In the woozle world, a shortage of change means an abundance of consistency. Woozles are adaptable and may appreciate the occasional change of pace or change of view, but they really like consistency. Pooties insist on it. Pooties really really don’t like change in their environment. At all. Other critters are at various points along the continuum.
So how could a change shortage be a bad thing? Well, it wouldn’t be the first time the woozles have gotten the wrong end of the stick. So Miss Sadie’s hoomin had to explain to her that the dilemma facing shops and shoppers wasn’t a lack of stability — it was a shortage of coinage. People, it seems, really need change.
Of course, the stores along Main Street in Woozleville haven’t felt the pinch of the coin shortage. Most business in our little village is done in barter or in dog kibble. But woozles like to keep up with current events in the Peeps world, mostly to understand what’s going on with their hoomins but also to head off any adverse effects on pooches. So the Woozleville Town Council did a study on the topic. All manner of change was examined. Was change in the air? Is change inevitable? Is change good or bad? Can we change if we want to? The whole community and many diverse species were invited to participate. The discussions were lively and enlightening. Some of the highlights have been posted in the Woozleville Community Center for those who could not attend the live sessions.
But before we get to those highlights below the fold, we must pause and make sure that the Peeps Rulz are prominently posted, per our arrangement with the Management:
THE RULZ
- Do not “Troll” the Pootie Peeps Diaries. If you don’t like animal diaries, there’s no need to tell us about it. Just go find some other diary more to your liking.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly. So, no pie fights please.
- If you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- There are some pics we never post: 1) snakes and creepy crawlies (some folks have phobias). 2) Any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals, even in jest, are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.
- If you’re not sure about an issue or need some pet advice...please ask. Someone is always glad to help.
- Links to stories of interest and fundraisers are always welcome here under the Community Links banner. Give just a short explanation with the link, please, and not the entire fundraising request, per the management.
PWB Peeps posts two diaries a day for animal lovers: a daytime diary at 1:45 pm Eastern and a nightly open thread at 10 pm Eastern. We concoct silly stories, share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
You are welcome to join us! Be kind to one another, we’re all in this together.
Now, on to the blog!
