Just a relatively quick hit here, as I didn’t see this diaried elsewhere: an Arizona news outlet is reporting that:
Donald Trump’s re-election campaign is going off Arizona airwaves after the Labor Day holiday, and may not resume television advertising in the Grand Canyon State until early voting begins in early October.
The increasingly good polling out of Arizona has made me think that it would be the first state under the bus once the Trump Triage began, but I thought they would at least give it until mid- to late September.
The Arizona Mirror, linked above, is apparently a relatively new media outlet and one I haven’t heard of, so my initial inclination was to take this report with a grain of salt. But the article cites FCC filings confirming that the ads have been pulled, and this gem of a quote from Trump campaign spokeswoman Samantha Zager:
“With a permanent presence in the state since 2016, Arizonans have heard from the Trump campaign for years and know about the wins President Trump’s America First agenda has delivered for them in just one term.”
With the caveat that it ain’t over until it’s over, I’m increasingly optimistic that with the combination of Trump’s repulsiveness and a great senate candidate in Mark Kelly, Arizona may be a relatively easy pickup for us this November.
GOTV!
