Good morning from the Monday edition of the Good News Roundup, all the news to give you hope that this prolonged Trump induced nightmare is reaching its conclusion.
So first of all Happy Labor Day to all, sadly I am not celebrating it because I have to work tomorrow, but I’m not terribly bitter, because today at work I saw a car which had a Biden Harris Bumpersticker and a sticker that proclaimed Trump as a failure and a fraud. As someone living in the reddest county in New York state, that was a real spirit lifter for me. I think Biden really has a shot in November, but only if we all do our part. So lets get out there and kick Trump out of the White House.
But first, have some good news, wont you?
Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told President Donald Trump in a “private meeting” that the Republican Party could be “screwed” if he continues to fight a war with the U.S. Postal Service.
According to Axios reporter Alayna Treene, McCarthy told the site, “We could lose based on that.”
That pretty much says it all doesn’t it? Trumps attempt to crush our voting rights are backfiring horribly, and everyone knows it.
Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, said his magazine's story about Trump calling Americans who died in battle "losers" and "suckers," was just the tip of the iceberg.
Sounds like Trump is gonna have a rough two months ahead of him (and hopefully a lot more rough months after that).
Donald Trump hired an actor to impersonate Barack Obama, such was his fixation with the president, according to his former fixer Michael Cohen.
In Cohen’s new book, the former attorney for the president says that Mr Trump hired the “Faux-Bama” to take part in a video in which he “ritualistically belittled the first black president and then fired him”
Pretty much at a loss here. What a sad, pathetic little man.
Michael Steele, the first Black chair of the Republican National Committee and recent high-profile addition for the Lincoln Project, still harbors a lot of resentment for the Republican Party over its role in allowing President Trump to come to power, he revealed in an interview published by The Guardian on Sunday.
Once again, more and more GOPer’s are doing the right thing and coming out against Trump, lets home this double pronged attack on Trump is enough to beat him.
A recent spate of polling shows that, despite expectations that the President’s campaign numbers might improve following the Republican National Convention, Democratic challenger Joe Biden is maintaining a steady lead in many polls, including in several key battleground states.
Despite the fact that one poll recently showed that President’ Trump’s approval rating is back where it was in late February, at 52%, several polls show that the President is still struggling to gain ground on Joe Biden. In a recent Fox News poll, Biden maintains a commanding lead among likely voters in Arizona, where among likely voters Biden is preferred by a 49% to 40% margin over Trump. In 2016, Trump beat Hillary Clinton in Arizona by 3.5 percentage points. In North Carolina, Biden holds a 4 percentage point lead among likely voters, and in Wisconsin, Biden leads Trump by 8 percentage points among likely voters. Trump carried both states in 2016 in his contest against Hillary Clinton.
And of course, Biden still has a healthy lead on Trump. Lets do all we can to make sure it stays that way.
That does it for this week. Have a happy Labor day, stay strong, stay hopeful, and stay focused, we can do this.
