Welcome to Woozle Wednesday
Hello Peeps, welcome to our little corner of Woozleville at the PWB Peeps [that’s Pooties (cats), Woozles (dogs), Birdeez (duh), and us Peeps of course].
Yes, it’s Woozle Wednesday, that day of the week when the PWBP Pooties take the day off and the pooches come to the rescue and politely take up the slack — well, those that are trained not to pull on their leashes. Don’t worry, pootie lovers, the kitties insist on making an appearance even though it is supposed to be their day off. They just can’t help putting in their two meows worth. Other critters like birdeez, small pets, farm animals, and sometimes wild creatures, will also make appearances from time to time.
Let’s Hear It for the Birds?
(OK, you should all be hearing the song “Let’s Hear It For the Boys” in your heads right now… Who’s a good boy? But I digress.)
Last week, as the Woozleville Town Council grappled with the change shortage it came to the attention of the senior woozles that some critters in the community actually were being short-changed! All too often the birdeez fail to make the cut or at the very best are an after-thought in the weekly woozle diaries. What’s up with that, asks some of the birds. In fact, a few budgies have started a community group BLM — Birds Lives Matter.
Budgie jumping?
The senior woozles appreciate that the birdeez have brought this glaring bias to their attention. Yes, the majority of residents in Woozleville are dogs, while cats also make up a significant contingent of the citizenry. But the village prides itself on being open and friendly and accessible to all species. We value diversity here in Woozleville and that includes our feathered pets. In fact, it turns out that birdeez have a lot in common with the kitties and the pooches. Pet birds are loving and curious like dogs. They also have attitude like cats. What’s not to like?
The village leaders are determined to put things right. We don’t want any species to fly off the handle! So tonight, the podium at our weekly gathering at the Community Town Center will be taken over by the feathered members of our village. Rumor has it that the budgies, parrots, cockatiels, and other birdeez have put their feathered heads together and created a rousing program for our entertainment. So, let’s hear it for the birds!
But before we all flock to the presentation below the fold, we must pause and make sure that the Peeps Rulz are prominently posted, per our arrangement with the Management:
THE RULZ
- Do not “Troll” the Pootie Peeps Diaries. If you don’t like animal diaries, there’s no need to tell us about it. Just go find some other diary more to your liking.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly. So, no pie fights please.
- If you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- There are some pics we never post: 1) snakes and creepy crawlies (some folks have phobias). 2) Any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals, even in jest, are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated.
- If you’re not sure about an issue or need some pet advice...please ask. Someone is always glad to help.
- Links to stories of interest and fundraisers are always welcome here under the Community Links banner. Give just a short explanation with the link, please, and not the entire fundraising request, per the management.
PWB Peeps posts two diaries a day for animal lovers: a daytime diary at 1:45 pm Eastern and a nightly open thread at 10 pm Eastern. We concoct silly stories, share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
You are welcome to join us! Be kind to one another, we’re all in this together.
Now, on to the blog!
