The lengths that this nation's most loved and famous people are going to get your behinds to the polls, America, cannot be overstated. You want Michelle Obama? You got it. You want LeBron James? He's on it. Whatever it takes to drag voters to the polls, or at least to their mailboxes.
Michelle Obama's When We All Vote and LeBron James' More Than A Vote are teaming up during these last few weeks of voting to launch Vote Together "celebrations" providing "food, music, entertainment, PPE supplies, voter protection support" and other services across the country. The celebrations will be held near early voting locations so voters can stop in before voting, stop in after voting, or both. You can find out where events are being held here; listed locations so far are in Orlando, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Tucson. The events are also being supported by chef Jose Andres' World Central Kitchen.
What more do you want, reluctant voters? Do you need LeBron James to personally come to your house? You need Michelle Obama to leave you a voicemail asking you to personally help save democracy, if you've got nothing better to do in the next few weeks? You do not want to get these two mad at you. They have powers. They have friends. You don't want to be walking down a nighttime street three weeks from now and have an angry Betty White step out of the shadows to ask you why the hell you didn't turn in your ballot.
Once again, if you know somebody who might need prodding before Election Day, you can send them here to see if they're near one of these events.
If you're interested in helping boost turnout yourself, there are dozens of other ways to do it as well. You can sign up to make phone calls encouraging battleground state voters here, and become a Mobilize to Win vote mobilizer here.
