The State of Minnesota was sued over its absentee ballot deadline. Two progressive groups argued that the pandemic threatened to disenfranchise voters.
In June the Secretary of State entered into a consent decree with the plaintiffs extending the deadline for receiving absentee ballots to 7 days after the election, providing they were postmarked on or before election day.

Now, 5 days before the election, two Republican judges on an 8th Circuit Court of appeals has overturned the previous ruling and now say that absentee ballots must be received by 8pm on election day.

At least the ballots received after election day can be sequestered should the Republican fvckery be reversed and those ballots be allowed to count.
