Here's a pat on the back for the whole Daily Kos community. On October 6, 2018, the day the Senate confirmed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh with Susan Collins' vote, David Nir launched our payback plan. "Are you angry now?" Nir asked? "Then there's something you can do—now." You did, and have kept it up for the last 22 months, to the tune of 42,700 people donating a total of $266,000 to send to Maine to beat Sen. Susan Collins.
Now that the primary in Maine is done, and Sara Gideon has emerged as the Democratic challenger to Collins, those funds are about to go out the door. That will be combined with $1.5 million from Act Blue's nominee fund and $4,124,213 raised by the Be A Hero Team, Maine People's Alliance, and Mainers for Accountable Leadership with Crowdpac. That's nearly $5.9 million that's going to be handed to Sara Gideon this week. That represents 5.9 million acts demonstrating our determination to get this Trump/McConnell enabler out of power.
So, take a bow. You deserve it!
