I’ve been thinking a lot lately about where we are. I suppose most of us have. I have come to the conclusion that Douglas Adams had it exactly right. Now, I mean no disrespect to hairdressers, Public Relations people or telephone cleaners. This pandemic has proven who the really important people in this world are.
However, I really do believe that we were dumped here by aliens who (in their mercy) decided that since, as a species, we were so violent and unevolved that we had to be segregated to protect polite society. This was done in the hopes that we WOULD, eventually, evolve and learn to live side by side with those different from ourselves. They drop by occasionally to see how we’re coming along, sigh and go home. Think about it.
We have, historically murdered our neighbors over which imaginary god they worship. Since, depending on how you look at it, there is either one “real” god or 3000 or so fake ones. Or maybe both :)
We have cheerfully stolen the homes and culture and murdered the children of indigenous people because we felt WE deserved their land.
We live in a world of people that think wearing a mask so as not to spread germs is the same as slavery of our brother and sisters and elect them to public office.
To probably mis-quote George Carlin, 100 is the average IQ which means half are dumber than that.
We spend 10,000 years learning to build homes and cultivate food, and then we work very hard to get someone else to do it for us and complain that it isn’t done right or soon enough or cheap enough. And those who do the work are looked down on and ridiculed because they do the work. Brilliant.
Fifty one percent of our population is considered second class by 49 percent who wouldn’t last a month if the 51 percent disappeared tomorrow.
All these “Race” problems stem from the simple fact that when our neighbors have something we want, turning them into the bad guys is the easy way to get “OUR” side all riled up to go in and take whatever it is. There is only one race…..Human.
The hard working people who teach our children need two or three incomes to own a home while a disgraced morning talk show host puts his “Estate” on the market for 44.1 million. And we accept this as normal. Fifteen million a year is considered “starting pay” for a college quarter back first round draft pick.
We dirty up our home until it is unlivable and say “Who Me?”. “I didn’t do it. Someone else has to clean it up and why is the air so thick and the water brown?”
Now, tell me again how we are “Exceptional”.
