A friend of mine recently sent me a slick little piece of propaganda that’s apparently been circulating on various rwnj websites that seeks to minimize the seriousness of the Jan 6 Capitol Insurrection and attempted Qanon coup by making blatantly misleading and utterly disingenuous comparisons with all the various BLM protests, including those hijacked by the anarchist black bloc types.
I’m not going to include the actual hit job here, or even a link to it (let alone refute it point-by-point, which any of us could do in our sleep), though any search on the terms “Manufactured Outrage” or “Your Outrage is Manufactured” is sure to turn it up. Instead, I’m more interested in finding out how things like this actually get created and launched in the first place.
From what I’ve been able to find so far, its first appearance seems to have been on a really obscure rw/ct website called theburningplatform.com (at least I’d never run across it before) run by one Jim (or James) Quinn with an actual PO Box in Kulpsville, PA, sometime around 1:30 pm est on Jan 8.
Since no one seems to be claiming authorship over this particularly obnoxious bit of offal, is it likely that Quinn is the original creator and his website the actual launch platform, or is there someone here more adept at this type of dreadful internet detective work who can trace it back to an even earlier source?
