The feud between Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and MTG escalated a few notches in the past few hours today. Is this theater or is this another crack in the republican party that can potentially become a fissure within the leadership and within the voter base?
On the Guy Benson show, an animated Nancy Mace had this to say about MTG -
“She’s a grifter, she lies to grift and it’s not okay, she is pulling the wool over so many eyes, so many vulnerable people. Lying to them like she’s fighting for them. She has no power, she has. She’s done nothing for America or the American people since she got elected to Congress. She doesn’t have the ability to. Meanwhile, I’m passing legislation to help gold star families. I’m passing legislation that helps our national security. I just went on this bipartisan Codell and stood up to China. Like This is the work that I was hired to do, and I’m doing that work. She hasn’t done a damn thing since she got into office.”
These are strong words, which will get played in the news cycle and also probably in political ads down the road.
Later this evening, as she came out of McCarthy’s office, she quipped to reporters — “All I can say about @RepMTG is bless her fucking heart.”
Whoa! Insults like these are not easily forgotten. MTG must be feeling the burn.
The salvo of words earlier in the day look tame in comparison to these. Here are some of the tweets today, most recent first —
This was about MTG showing off her ring-kissing abilities with the big boss -
Ms Mace later tweeted to correct the mis-spelling of the word Principal.
Nancy Mace makes liberal use of emoticons 😄
Liar and grifter — perfectly accurate, but rarely heard from a republican about a republican.
Maybe, her life experiences which drive her stance on abortion and exemption from rape/incest, is the reason for her anger at MTG and perhaps others in her caucus -
Religious bigot and racist — those words apply to practically everyone in the GOP nowadays -
MTG = Bat Shit Clown? Or perhaps she wanted to say Bat Shit Crazy.
The feud started when Mace criticized Boebert for her Islamophobic attacks on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).
Apparently Kevin McCarthy talked to the two of them separately and was unable to shut down this escalating feud. Good for him and good for the country.
Three Toes?
Other catfights and feuds in progress —
You might wonder why we are following this nasty dirty fight between two ladies of the nasty dirty party? Is it for kicks and entertainment? A bit of that maybe, but more importantly, this seems to be the first time a republican has used such strong words against a colleague. Is this a fissure likely to develop into a rift between two camps? Let’s hope so and let’s do everything we can to make it so. What should we do to widen the rift and to change some republican/independent voters’ minds about the ugly fascist republican party, that is on the cusp of turning our country into a banana republic.
Dana Milbank was on the Joy Reid show stating that the reason Kevin McCarthy is silent on Boebert is because the real power in the house belongs to he likes of MTG, Boebert and Gosar. That’s a scary thought and something that needs to be changed if our Democracy is to survive.
Yesterday, two-faced Mace was criticized for speaking against vaccines on Fox and then later singing the praises of vaccines on CNN.
Which one is the real Nancy Mace? Do we care since Nancy Mace is no liberal anyways. although she has voted out-of-step with her colleagues a few times this year? Let’s boot her out.
What do you think?
