Y'know the depths of depravity to which Donald Trump could (and has) stooped has long since ceased to surprise me.
But still every once in awhile he comes up with something that causes one to give a little more than a passing "there he goes again" to his next outrage. The latest being his deliberate attempt to pander to the basest emotions among his already rabidly disassociated from reality constituency, by suggesting that white people were being discriminated against in treatment for Covid.
Forget for a moment, IF one can, that it was HE who politicized the pandemic by immediately branding it a Democratic hoax, who deliberately questioned obstructed and obscured medical advice from doctors and scientists, who encouraged anarchy and protests against mask, mandates, and safety protocols, and who hawked quack cures, chemical injections, and other such nonsense while proclaiming how the virus affected "virtually nobody."
Forgetting all of that, AND the estimated 300,000 deaths attributed by some experts to his own maladministration (Trump’s “nobodies”), one still finds oneself wondering, "What kind o mind could possibly come up with such a notion - that people were being sent to the back of a line for Covid treatment because of their race?
That is, until I recalled a story I recently read regarding rare treatment being first sent to a private clinic in Florida, while a larger hospital had to wait.
And then I remembered those stories back in the first year of the pandemic, about how Trump had politicized his own response in distribution of pandemic relief supplies and the like to those he favored most.
So after recalling all of that, the answer I came up with is, only a Trump-like mind would think of doing something like that. Would think of playing political favoritism with American lives in the face of a national crisis.
And I strongly suspect Trump himself might have done such a thing had he still occupied the Oval Office. After all, it wouldn't have been a first.
Who knows what horrors might've unfolded had HE been at the helm?
One thing's for sure, whatever the Biden administration's blunders, we can thank our LUCKY STARS we aren't at the whim and mercy of Donald Trump.
