Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has finally explained why she wore a white coat trimmed in fur to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address last week.
To a North Idaho GOP group, the lawmaker with a knack for triggering liberals said it was a “visual reminder” to the president about the Chinese spy balloon that traversed the United States last week.

The MAGA movement is about glorying in their own self-image as political scoundrels.
But, of course, it's wiser to assume that Greene knew exactly how she looked. Moreover, her ridiculously out-of-place outfit did exactly what it was meant to do: Get her photo on the front of every newspaper and website imaginable. Also intentional: Drawing scorn from people like Meyers, which she can then repackage as "proof" that she's a victim of the "coastal elite," defined not by money, which she has plenty of, but the fact that they know the difference between the Nazi police and cold tomato soup. Above all else, she wanted to look the part of the villain. Far from being people who are unaware they're the baddies, the MAGA movement is about glorying in their own self-image as political scoundrels.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) referenced the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks that killed almost 3,000 Americans in order to attack President Joe Biden while addressing a Lincoln Day dinner in Idaho over the weekend.
Greene spoke at the event hosted by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee and was receiving loud applause until she invoked 9/11 to argue Biden could have shot down the balloon over the continental U.S.
“Yeah, They said it’s three school buses. Three school buses. Why? Okay, well, do you guys remember on 9/11 when an airplane crashed in Pennsylvania, a jetliner?” Greene continued, referencing United Flight 93, as the room fell silent.
“Remember that? It didn’t kill anybody on the ground. Killed everyone on board, but it didn’t kill anyone on the ground. So they want to tell all of us that it was too risky to take down that Chinese spy balloon over rural Idaho or Montana or any of these other states or Alaska,” Greene continued to a quiet room.
“They’re liars. There you can only see it two ways,” she added.
“Either they’re liars or they’re cowards or our president is sold out to China,” she said as the crowd got back into it. “Oh, you know what? I’ll go with all three.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has no regrets about screaming at Biden administration officials last week during a briefing over the Chinese spy balloon, bragging on Saturday that she personally chewed out military officials for how they handled the situation.
“You sat by and allowed this Chinese spy balloon that could’ve contained a bioweapon like COVID. It could’ve contained a nuclear bomb. An EMP attack, or hypersonic missiles,” the congresswoman, who has struggled on her image rehab tour, recalled to a rapt audience at a fundraiser in Idaho.
“I said, ‘That is the biggest bunch of bullshit,’” she boasted in video posted to Twitter—although the word sounded more like “boar shit.”
An anonymous lawmaker told The Hill on Thursday that Greene acted “irrational” in the briefing, “just screaming and yelling.”
However, Greene appears to have a different interpretation:
“I chewed them out just like the American people would’ve,” she told The Hill. “I tore ’em to pieces.”
