First off, though pictures of The Great Election Thief and his minions don’t trigger me, though I’ve read many people getting quite het up about them, so hopefully one of my own pix of Mt. Fuji will help to soothe you a tad.
Next; though I am not an American citizen; have never been there (and currently have less than zero plans to visit!), I and many other around the world right now are sharing your pain; believe me, we are. Because the ripple effect from this will be felt everywhere I believe; I don’t think many countries will be safe from it.
While I believe things are going to get very, VERY nasty there in the coming weeks and months, I wouldn’t position myself as an expert to say exactly what you can expect. I’d recommend consulting a variety of academics who’ve made studies of authoritarian regimes, add the particularities of The U.S., and then the peculiarities of Trump himself.
Your world has been upended and almost certainly will be even more, but I would recommend one thing. I’m not going to say anything negative about the decisions various of you have stated; some are opting to leave altogether, some are saying they’ll move to where they feel might be safer within The U.S. Others are saying they’ll never give up and will gear up for the fight, even an actual one if necessary. Everyone should make their own decision as to what’s best for them and those they love. But I will say one thing; please, stop sniping at each other.
I’ve seen too many people on here since last week, shouting each other down; perhaps stopping short of calling each other idiots or cowards, but there’s an (understandable) degree of internal tension here that cannot continue.
Yes you’re angry, but please don’t take it out on each other; don’t give those fascist wankers that win too.
