Stop doing the analysis of why she lost.
She ran against a cult leader who made such egregious errors that anyone else would be disqualified.
Take a second. Pretend that they switched places. He said everything she did; she said everything he did. He ran her campaign; she ran his.
Would she have won? Would he have lost?
No.
She ran against a cult leader, a cult of personality. His followers donned diapers and trashbags. There was nothing to be said that would have changed their vote.
He said that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose a single vote. It was likely the only honest thing that he said.
Stop blaming her. Stop blaming her positions, her positivity, her smile. Her genitalia. Her skin tone.
She didn't lose: he won.
And all the can hope for is that we survive it.
But if Jews and/or queers and/or nonbinary people start disappearing, I will be one of the ones gone. I was always going to be one of the first ones to go.
But I won't go down damning her. I will be proud to have voted for her. I'm proud to have donated to her. I'm proud to have made calls for her. The whole 9 yards. I'm proud of it all.
And I'm proud of her. She was an incredible candidate with a nearly flawless campaign.
And, even with full knowledge of what would have happened, and whatever comes next, I'd vote for her again.
Stop blaming her for the loss. Just think who could possibly have run and beat him. And what excuses you would find after they lost.
