Found some more stuff here. She's a climate change denialist. She wants, "a free market and energy, and a resistance to the alarmism and hysteria of the climate change cult."
"There's been no warming in 17 years." That was in October of 2014.
In 2019, she wanted an official refutation of the 2018 National Climate Assessment. Possibly forcing scientists from NASA and NOAA participate.
My original assessment was correct. She's not a good choice for the job. I'd write more but you could read the information yourself by following the link above.
She worked for Trump before. But most her time has been spent at the America First Policy Institute. Of note is that on the site her biography was written by her. Usually that means people are too full of themselves.
Here's her speech at the Madison Square Garden rally.
On the wayback machine on the site are various articles and op-eds she wrote. Let's just do the first page of nine that are accessible.
July 21st she wrote an op-ed called: "Biden's decision to drop out shows that there is a looming threat to democracy - and it's not Trump."
August 5th an op-ed called, "Biden and Harris bold plan will usher in Democrat authoritarian rule."
August 11th op-ed, "Harris's actions abandoned Israel."
August 27th news release. "AFPI champions governor's leadership to secure US elections and prevent non-citizen voting."
September 4th op-ed, "Americans must realize there's only one path to prosperity this November."
November 4th she was doing a podcast with a football coach.
We're obviously looking at a brain that's half full.
The Agriculture Department consists of 18 different offices, and 15 separate services. I do not think she is going to be good for the agriculture of the country. You're talking about a 1.5 trillion dollar yearly industry.
You've got the Food and Nutrition Service. Food Safety and Inspection Service. Forest Service. Animal and Plant Inspection Service.
Approximately 71% of the budget for the Department of Agriculture goes to the Food and Nutrition Service. The largest part of that budget is the Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program, commonly known as SNAP, used to be known as food stamps. Just guess what she'll be looking to cut for Trump. And if not for Trump, for Musk and Ramaswamy.
The Forest Service takes care of National Grasslands and Forests. It makes up about 25% of the federally owned lands in the United States. Grasslands, like the national forests, may be open for hunting, grazing, mineral extraction, recreation and other uses.
These are the two areas of attack that Rollins will make. Trump's plan is already to open up as many oil reserves on federal lands as he can. He could also let lumber companies go into national forests and get rid of a lot of trees, especially old growth. Great for the environment, not. And he could find a way to let lithium miners go into the grasslands. There could be gold in them thar hills. Let's just say that Trump has no problem with using up natural resources and creating pollution and climate change.
Others will probably find a lot more to dig into her background, but I think just what she left on the America First Policy Institute is enough to let you know that she's going to be another bad choice.
