We all have our favorite Christmas and holiday music. Mine is Stan Freberg's Green Chri$tma$.
It's not just music, it's a 7 minute comedy sketch that shows the difference between celebrating the season, the right, and the wrong ways.
Stan takes a dead shot at the commercialization of what should be a religious holiday. A lot of radio stations wouldn't play it because it was so spot on.
Here it is on YouTube in stereo:
Stan Freberg's Green Chri$tma$
The "Green" was about the color of money. Put out in 1958, it always made me feel I knew the truth. Mom and Dad still put on the Santa Claus myth, but I knew better.
In this recording, Bob Cratchit is the owner of a small spice company that just wants to send out a Christmas card that says, simply, "Peace On Earth. Good Will Toward Men." The other businesses are aghast and tell Bob what he should be doing to capitalize on the season. The Chairman of the Board is Stan Freberg as Mr. Scrooge.

The commercial parodies alone are worth a listen.
Everybody have a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
