It just doesn't feel like Christmas.
My family, the people in my life who stood with me as I watched my father die slowly of a horrible disease.
Or when my dear sister, stricken with cancer, waved me goodbye from the screen door of her home as I left for the airport - knowing I would never see her again.
I remain true to them. My father, my sister, they were the embodiment of courage and decency. They were good to others in their lives. They were kind. But they are gone.
My relatives who remain? — They are for Trump. The antithesis of decency, of kindness.
If you have relatives who voted for voted for Trump, there is no justification to celebrate with them.
Their votes have empowered an authoritarian cretin, who is hell-bent on destroying our democracy, and America.
If you betray your convictions by embracing them this Christmas, then you have no convictions at all.
