Let’s keep it simple. Joe Biden pardoned his son because he was “unfairly targeted.” Okay. But…
How many people of color, how many poor people, how many immigrants, have been “unfairly targeted” for prosecutions in this country? Is it lots? ‘Cause I’ll bet it’s lots.
Hunter DID THE CRIMES. He took a plea deal admitting that he did the crimes he was accused of.
Is it unfair that he was targeted for political reasons? You bet.
Is it unfair that he was prosecuted for crimes most people are never prosecuted for committing? Sure is.
Is it unfair that he would have to spend time in prison for crimes most people never see prison for? Of course.
But…so what? Why is Hunter Biden special, next to all of the unfairly prosecuted people in this country whose father ISN’T the President of the United States? What makes him so special, so deserving, over any of them, over countless others?
Mr. Biden sold the ONLY THING DEMOCRATS HAD LEFT — the moral high ground — in exchange for his son’s pardon.
Mr. Biden BROKE HIS WORD TO ALL OF US when he signed that pardon.
So don’t talk about how “right” it was for Mr. Biden to do this thing — it makes me want to puke. This was so wrong on SO MANY LEVELS.
Mr. Biden didn’t want his son to suffer — I get it. But Mr. Biden also knew, going in, that Hunter had legal issues, as legal issues kind of go hand-in-hand with drug addiction.
I am sorry Hunter was targeted, truly.
I am more sorry Mr.Biden could not keep his word and set the example we so desperately need in this country, even if it meant his son paying a higher price for his wrongdoing than most other people pay.
Both Biden men knew the risks from the beginning of Joe’s campaign in 2020 — and rather than accept those risks, rather than pay the price in full, Mr. Biden has now painted EVERY DEMOCRAT with this pardon brush.
To put it simply — Joe Biden bought his son’s pardon with MY — AND YOUR — moral high ground. C’mon, man, that’s not right…
Right is right, even if NO ONE is doing it. Wrong is wrong, even if EVERYONE is doing it.
