Welcome to another Saturday night of music, memories, and conversations. Last week we looked at essential music of our members. This week...I'm a little worn out from the shitshow that has been the past month, so....let's hear some songs about, involving, videos including, or using metaphors relating to pets and animals!
My attempts to keep in shape are not that successful, but sometimes I do get into a good walking routine. Is it to get in better shape or get to know the neighbors? Nope....it's to see the furry pooties on the way. I've learned the names of Nacho and Sunny, but the others are just...little friends. Tacocat - “Little Friend”.
Human voices are very common in music, but this alt-rock classic (no, it's not classic rock, we Gen Xers are still cool!) has a very distinctive beginning of dogs barking. And let's hope Perry Farrell gets some help now after he got into an altercation with Dave Navarro onstage 2 ½ months ago. (CW for the cons – drag.) Jane's Addiction - “Been Caught Stealing” (Link)
My friend's cat was in this video mostly made up of clips of OPP (other people's pussies)...she is the cat coming out of the backpack early in the video. The Doubleclicks - “Boundaries”
Lots of cats and at least one dog in this video partly shot at a shelter or a vet's office... Veruca Salt - “Seether”
And what does a cat sound like? Like this – a spectrograph made from scanned photos of cats and turned back into sound! Venetian Snares - “Look”
Gentle reminder: Please continue to put the name of your selection in your comment along with your song. Those of us on our phones? We really appreciate it. You know how this works — Put your quarter in the slot and your song in the comments. This is your Saturday night jukebox and the party starts NOW.
