Previous diaries have noted the shamelessness and cluelessness of the parade of Republican officials trooping to the Manhattan courtroom where their corrupt, venal and stupid leader is standing trial for lying about paying off a porn star he banged while his wife was home with their newborn son. These tools all feign outrage while they mouth the talking points about what they claim is incontrovertible evidence of bias: why, “the judge’s own daughter” worked for a consulting firm that had Democratic clients, they say breathlessly, trying to appear incredulous at supposedly clear bias of the judge overseeing The Donald’s trial. Proof positive of unacceptable corruption! Uh-huh. Of course, this overlooks the flagrant bias of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, whose wife Ginni (sorry, “the Justice’s own wife!”), has been paid very well for many years of conservative political activism, up to and including participating in the conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election, even while her husband participated in multiple cases involving the election and the insurrection and voted to keep her emails from the House January 6th Committee. (Not to mention federal Judge Aileen Cannon, who was given her important job, with lifetime tenure, by the defendant in the case she is presiding over while ruling over and over again for his benefit!)
Now yet another SCOTUS Justice has outed himself as a blatant partisan hack. Justice Samuel Alito displayed an upside-down American flag at his house in the days just after the January 6, 2021 insurrection, and just before President Biden’s inauguration — while the Court was considering a challenge to the election results. Displayed that way, the flag was a clear symbol of sympathy with the evidence-free “Stop the Steal” claim that the election had been somehow stolen by Joe Biden. The Justice claims that it was his wife who put up the flag and maintained it for days, although I don’t believe lyin’ Sam Alito for a moment. In fact, if he’s so oblivious that he didn’t notice an upside-down American flag outside of his own house he’s obviously unfit on that basis alone to be a judge. That’s a violation of the U.S. flag code, btw — which is illegal. Not to mention unethical for him — a Court employee cannot even have a political bumper sticker or yard sign. Really, it’s just a blatant red flag (literally) saying “I’m a complete fucking asshole and biased as hell, but I’ve got life tenure, so eat it!”
And by the way, Sam, do you still oppose women being admitted to colleges, like you did as a Princeton undergrad? You and your buddy Clarence should just resign. You’re way too twisted to sit in judgment of others.
