As the jury went off to deliberate on Trump’s guilt or (hah) innocence in his current trail over hush money payments/election fraud, Trump stood outside the court and said that “Mother Teresa could not beat these charges.” And he was right! Mother Teresa would be convicted (in my humble opinion) if faced with the evidence presented in the trial.
HIs comparison of this saintly woman to himself caused me to rack my brain trying to remember when Trump went off to India to perform charitable acts among the poor and sick. I have come up blank.
I do recall that when Trump was President, he did help the country become sicker and poorer. Perhaps, he had the two concepts confused.
Anyway, I thought he could have made a different comparison of himself to several other persons that might have resonated as well, or better, to his audience.
Here is a list of some of those personages:
Taylor Swift could not beat these charges.
Shirley Temple could not beat these charges.
Tiny Tim could not beat these charges.
Sherlock Holmes could not beat these charges.
Tom Cruise could not beat these charges.
Bugs Bunny could not beat these charges.
Houdini could not beat these charges.
Dorothy of Oz could not beat these charges.
Wonder Woman could not beat these charges.
Abe Lincoln and George Washington could not beat these charges.
Scooby Doo could not beat these charges.
Well, you get the idea and may want to add some personages of your own. I do want to apologize to everyone mentioned above, with this attempt at humor, in comparing them with Trump. Parody works best when the contrasts are so HUGE!
