The attempted assassination of Donald Trump has raised a multitude of questions for authorities, namely “how” and “why?” Yesterday, July 24th, FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before Congress to answer a multitude of questions posed by members of Congress. In part of Wray’s testimony, however, the FBI Director made a surprising statement:
“With respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear… As I sit here right now, I don’t know whether that bullet… in addition to causing the grazing, could have landed somewhere else… But I believe we’ve accounted for all the shots in the cartridges.”
This testimony from the FBI Director comes in light of the fact that we (the public) still have not seen any medical records released about Donald Trump’s wound that he suffered from the assassination attempt. All that the public has received is a letter released by the Trump Campaign, written by Ronny “Candy Man” Jackson (abcnews.go.com/...). This is the same former White House physician who stated Trump could live to be 200 years old (www.cnn.com/...).
The letter by Jackson explains that Trump sustained a gunshot wound that was, “less than a quarter of an inch from entering his head, and struck the top of his right ear,” which, “produced a 2cm wide wound that extended down to the cartilaginous surface of the ear. There was initially significant bleeding, followed by marked swelling of the entire upper ear,” and that the wound, “is beginning to granulate and heal properly… Given the broad and blunt nature of the wound itself, no sutures were required... In summary, former President Trump is doing well, and he is recovering as expected from the gunshot would sustained last Saturday afternoon.”
Rather than allay concerns, however, Jackson’s letter has only served to raise more questions and concerns regarding the condition of Trump, as Dr. Vin Gupta explained to MSNBC (www.rawstory.com/...). Dr. Vin Gupta is a pulmonology expert and is a Major in the Armed Forces, serving as the lead officer of the Critical Care Air Transport Team for the United States Air Force Medical Service Reserves. Gupta knows a thing or two about gunshot wounds.
While on MSNBC, Gupta was asked if there seemed to be an “unusual blackout of medical information” about Trump’s condition after the assassination attempt.
Gupta replied, “it is unusual, given the gravity of the situation… And I’d say for your viewers, something to look up and research if you are interested, it is called the tangential gunshot wound. That is essentially what the president is saying happened here.”
Gupta continued:
“[Trump] had a high velocity bullet from an AR-15-style weapon shoot directly at his head, missed penetrating his skull, but actually impacting the surrounding tissues, in this case, his ear. That is what we are being told. That is serious. I come from a military background… that predisposes, in some cases, to traumatic brain injury. Over time we might not see initial symptoms up front… There could’ve been signs of bleeding that maybe were not present on that initial CT scan that apparently was normal, for whatever report we got, that summary report… There’s a lot of potential impacts here that could impact his function if he the next president, to his balance, to his hearing, they can manifest over time. This is a big deal.”
I googled what a “tangential gunshot wound” is. According to ScienceDirect, quoting The Journal of Emergency Medicine:
“Patients with tangential gunshot wounds (TGSWs) commonly present with a good Glasgow Coma Scale score and without a history of loss of consciousness. Typically, the bullet does not breach the skull, however, there is a considerable force directed into the brain, and these patients are best treated as sustaining a moderate-to-severe blunt head injury. These patients require observation and repeat imaging. Physicians should be aware of this entity as these patients can deteriorate in a delayed fashion... The authors present a case of a TGSW to the head in a neurologically intact patient. Clinically, the patient showed worsening of her neurological examination. She underwent aggressive non-surgical treatment for increased intracranial pressure with almost complete recovery. Conclusion: Although patients with TGSWs are typically in good condition upon presentation, these injuries are not always trivial, and these patients should have, at minimum, a non-contrast brain CT scan to evaluate underlying damage to the brain and skull.”
The experts stress the importance of CT scans to evaluate underlying damage to the brain and skull because a tangential gunshot wound, like Trump has allegedly suffered, can be equated to “moderate to severe blunt head injury.”
When I googled further, I found that some example causes of moderate to severe blunt head injuries are things like: sports related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and bicycle accidents (www.ninds.nih.gov/....). In other words, we’re talking about potential blunt force trauma on par with getting a baseball to the head or a car accident, not bumping your head on a doorway.
Considering this video, it is not difficult to see how tangential gunshot wounds happen:
What you just watched was a 5.56mm bullet shot through a block of ballistics gelatin — the same sort of bullet used by AR-15s (what Trump’s assassin was allegedly using). Ballistics gelatin is used as an analogue for flesh to demonstrate the destructive power of various bullets on the human body. The bubble you see is the shockwave caused by the bullet exerting its energy into the gelatin, causing the gelatin to rapidly expand and collapse from the shock trauma of the bullet. Mind you, bad as this looks for your health, gelatin does not show the damage that bullets cause to blood vessels and arteries.
And we have had no official medial records released from Trump’s medical caretakers.
Now, with the FBI Director’s testimony hitting the spotlight, Ronny Jackson has hit the airwaves again rather than release official medical records (www.rawstory.com/...).
Ronny Jackson posted this to X (Twitter):
Considering the footage I shared, what we have been told by Ronny Jackson, what medical experts like Dr. Gupta have said, and the definitions of tangential gunshot wounds, the nature of Trump’s attempted assassination and his condition after the shooting raise many questions that simply have not been answered.
Did Trump suffer any internal bleeding?
Did Trump suffer any brain damage?
Did Trump suffer and injuries that could have long-term side effects?
Why haven’t we had Trump’s medical records released to the public?
And these questions are only emphasized by the backdrop of the mysteries still surrounding Trump’s attempted assassination.
Why did Crooks attempt to shoot Trump?
Why did security personnel ignore warnings from bystanders that Crooks was on the roof of a building with a rifle?
Why was the building Crooks shot from not secured in advance?
And so on.
Considering that not even the FBI knows what exactly hit Donald Trump’s ear only draws more attention and confusion regarding this entire situation.
Regardless, these are questions we may never have answered satisfactorily, as we continue forwards with an RNC Presidential Candidate who continues to incite violence and espouse seditious rhetoric at his own peril.
