We know what to expect from the MAGA Faithful — nothing but delusional bullshit.
Babies are not being aborted after birth. Period. Telling them to their face that it isn’t true doesn’t work. But Trump says that they are — so they believe it. I’m surprised any of these people can even function rationally in life. But they do. Somehow.
We know that these people have been deliberately and strategically disinformed for decades. They’ve been told that Democrats are Satanists, that we’re Communists, that we terrorize children and eat them like in a Brothers Grimm story. They think we “execute babies” after birth. We supposedly support an international Cabal of Globalists who wish to control all means of production and commerce — and of course, we indoctrinate children into believing they can be pansexual, a ferbie or something.
Here’s another section where Trump goes after Harris and Walz with ridiculous bullshit.
Trump makes a lot of claims here.
Yes, Walz has said that “one person’s socialism, is another person’s neighborliness” — which if you think about it is true if you define it as using a collective effortand funds to solve common community problems. That version of “socialism” would include Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Fire Departments and Police. Who is calling for those things to be abolished? Would we want our Fire Departments and Police privatized so they only protect the property and people that pay them insurance like a protection racket?
Walz did change Columbus Day in Minnesota to Indigenous People’s Day which it already is in several states.
Governor Tim Walz signed a bill declaring October 9th as Indigenous People’s Day. The proclamation signed replaces what was once Columbus Day.
Minnesota now joins other states in recognizing the pain and suffering felt by indigenous peoples during western colonization. The other stats that recognized today as Indigenous People’s Day include, Arizona, California, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Virginia, Wisconsin and Washington, D.C.
Wisconsin has recognized today as indigenous people’s day since 2019.
Walz did sign a bill that granted heathcare and driver license to migrants — largely because having access to healthcare is a public health issue, particularly with communicable diseases and people having licenses is a public safety issue. It’s not like people are likely to leave if they don’t have either, so since they’re already here — let’s treat them like human beings.
However, the claim that Walz put “Tampons in boys restrooms is false.”
The Minnesota law, however, doesn't specify in which bathrooms the menstrual supplies must be located; instead, it requires school districts to develop plans to ensure all students who menstruate can access free tampons and pads, Lacey Gero, director of government relations at the advocacy group Alliance for Period Supplies, told CBS MoneyWatch. Her group advocates for free tampons and pads in schools, prisons and other institutions and eliminating the so-called tampon tax.
Struggling with "period poverty"
While it's unclear how many transgender children could benefit from free menstrual supplies, the impact is mostly felt by the millions of girls who experience so-called "period poverty," or the inability to afford pads and tampons. About one in four teenagers who menstruate struggle to pay for period products, according to a 2023 study from the advocacy group Period.
"We're hearing from somebody who was a teacher, that [Walz] recognized that students need school-supplied period products, and this issue is something we hear about from students across the country today," Gero said. "My hope is that this being in the public eye brings attention to an issue that many people might not know about or may have never thought about."
I find this one pretty ironic since the GOP is also talking about “monitoring” the menstrual cycles of teenagers - -wouldn’t that involve tracking their tampon use?
The claim that he “signed a law allowing the state to kidnap children to change their gender” is insane and also false. What he did was make Minnesota a ‘Trans Refuge” from the hate and bigotry of other states against Trans people.
In March 2023, Walz issued an executive order protecting trans patients’ ability to receive medical care that helps them live according to their gender identity. The order shields patients, parents and providers from punishment by other states for seeking and delivering such care. The next month, he signed legislation enshrining similar protections that supporters said would establish Minnesota as a “trans refuge.”

The Minnesota law allows courts to have “temporary emergency jurisdiction” during custody disputes crossing state lines if a child has been unable to obtain gender-affirming care. Kat Rohn, executive director of OutFront, an LGBTQ+ advocacy organization in St. Paul, Minn., said the law gives courts the ability to resolve conflicts when parents disagree on whether their child should receive gender-affirming care; it does not remove custody from parents who decline such care.
No one is being “kidnapped” here. No one is being forced into gender-affirming care against their will. Why should a child be punished for how they were born? How can some outside person or government -— without a medical or psychology degree — tell them what their gender is or should be?
Trump also claims that Walz signed a bill that allowed “pedophiles to claim human rights protections” Again, this is false.
However, Walz did not sign a law giving pedophiles legal protections in Minnesota. The claims build on a long-standing disinformation trope tying the LGBTQ community to pedophilia.
The posts reference the Take Pride Act, which Walz signed in 2023 as part of a larger public safety law (archived here and here). Among other measures, the legislation removed a line from Minnesota's human rights law saying pedophilia could not be considered a sexual orientation.
Democratic state Representative Leigh Finke, who introduced the legislation, said in a 2023 panel discussion that the bill "modernizes" the text of Minnesota's Human Rights Act and aligns the law with a "more contemporary understanding" of gender identity (archived here and here).
Some Republican figures criticized the proposal over concerns that removing the line about pedophilia could be interpreted as granting legal protections.
Republican state Representative Harry Niska introduced an amendment adding the line: "The physical or sexual attachment to children by an adult is not a protected class under this chapter." Lawmakers approved the amendment but later removed it, and it was not included in the final version that Walz signed (archived here).
Other news organizations debunked false and misleading claims about the Take Pride Act when it was introduced and debated in 2023.
Finke said the Take Pride Act removed "harmful" language from Minnesota statutes -- and that sexual abuse of children is still illegal.
"No serious observer of the Take Pride Act would conclude that pedophilia is a protected class in Minnesota, and we are not concerned that any court would find such an absurd claim based on the law in Minnesota," she said in an email on August 8, 2024.
It doesn’t matter what the facts are — we know that the MAGA faithful will take these claims seriously. We know that although they don’t seem to give a half-a-shit if a classroom of children gets gunned down by a lunatic with a military-grade weapon they will lose their freaking minds over these false claims about tampons in bathrooms, kidnapping kids for transition and granting rights to pedophiles.
Because, y’know, they “really care” about the kids.
They will be outraged enough to make attempts on Gov Walz and Vice President Harris’ life. This is no joke. This is Five-Alarm Fire Serious.
If (and likely When) Trump loses how are these people going to respond — with acts of violence and terrorism against vulnerable communities and law enforcement? Will they attack schools? Hospital and Doctors? Parents they disagree with?
Should we blame them for their gullibility and ignorance or should we blame those — like Megyn Kelly and Trump — who have deliberately and cynically misled them with lies and propaganda?
Do people have a responsibility to critically assess what they're told rather than just blindly accept it? Should they do basic contrast and compare with available information to determine what is true and what isn’t? Is that too much to ask from people just trying to get through their day and live their own lives?
Should the media be held to account for platforming lies without correction? Should they be arbiters of facts or merely stenographers of disparate opinions, allowing the audience to decide for themselves?
How does the media effectively debunk lies and falsehoods when a significant portion of the public — particularly MAGAs who’ve been repeatedly told that the mainstream media “lies” — have long ago lost all faith in anything they have to say?
Or should the liars themselves be punished with harsh defamation suits to prevent these wild falsehoods from being promoted without consequence?
Perhaps all the above?
The floor is open for debate.
