Olympic Boxing Scandal is a Russian Psy-op

AP News has the most comprehensive reporting on this that I’ve seen to date on the Khelif Boxing Scandal.

The link goes into detail, but the important thing to focus on is that this by all appearances appears to be a “simple” boxing corruption scandal that is retaliation by Russia after being really bad at escaping their doping and cheating allegations; which only has legs because Russia has managed to make right wing media into their puppets.

Stop trying to out-science the transphobes, the bigots, the right wing culture war machine.  It’s not where we win.  Call them out for their hypocrisy, sure — all these years of them claiming what’s in your pants and on your birth certificate is what defines your gender and now they’re accusing someone assigned female at birth of being a man. But importantly, call them out on their lack of patriotism. By repeating Russian lies, the same Russia that has been caught in one doping scandal after the next, they’re surrendering US superiority to cheaters.  Rebuild the distrust of powerful Russian influence that conservatives have been conditioned to fall victim to in the Trump years and maybe we stand a chance of turning things around.
