Could you come up with a better introductory campaign ad for Gov. Tim Walz, our VP candidate. Kamala Harris picked a winner who just knocked it out of the park in his first ad as a member of the Democratic ticket. And the ad doesn’t mention Trump once.
Just look at the images used. The ad is optimistic, sincere and down-to-earth. This guy is the real deal.
Walz emphasizes the lessons he’s learned in life, Here are some highlights:
“Where I grew up, community was a way of life. My high school class was 24 people. I was related to half of them.”
He talks about learning to “compromise without compromising my values and work for the common good.”
He mentions that is dad was in the army and with his encouragement he joined the Army National Guard. when he was 17 and served for 24 years. He used his GI benefits to go to college and become a public school teacher.
“I tried to teach my students what small town Nebraska taught me — respect, compromise, service to country.” And he said those are the values he carried with him when he went into government.
He then mentions that he worked with Republicans to pass an infrastructure bill. And then he adds that he cut taxes for working families, signed paid leave into law , and codified abortion rights after Roe got overturned. He then said he goes “to work for the common good.”
And then he hits on the theme of the campaign — looking to the future with optimism.
He says: “But enough about me. Let’s talk about you, because that’s what this election is about. It’s about your future. It’s about your family.”
And Vice President Harris knows that. She too grew up in a middle class family. She too goes too work every day making sure families can not just get by, but get ahead. We believe in the promise of those values I learned in Nebraska and we’re ready to fight for them. Because as Kamala Harris says, when we fight we win.”
And now we have video of Kamala’s call to Walz informing him that he’s the chosen one:
Walz: “Let’s win this thing.”
