To help celebrate ex-President Donald Trump’s 3rd run for the White House, I’ve assembled some of his most important moments in a simple timeline format so you can follow his life path.
June 14, 1946, Donald Trump was born in Queens, New York.
1970’s to present day, Trump has been accused of rape, sexual abuse, and sexual harrassment by at least 25 women.
1973, Trump Management is sued for violations of the Fair Housing Act. Trump settled the suit in 1975.
November 1, 1987, Trump publishes “The Art of the Deal,” commits to donate a portion of the proceeds to charity, and establishes the Donald J. Trump Foundation charity.
April 6, 1988, Trump pays a $750,000 fine for violating stock market regulations.
June 7, 1989, Trump launched the Trump Shuttle airline. It never made a profit, defaulted on its loans, and ceased operations on April 7, 1992.
November, 1990, Trump’s Taj Mahal casino files for bankruptcy.
June 6, 1991, Trump Plaza and Casino was fined $200,000 for discrimination.
1992, Trump’s Plaza Hotel and Casino, Plaza Hotel, Trump Castle Hotel and Casino all filed for bankruptcy.
January 22, 1998, Trump’s Taj Mahal casino pays $477,000 in fines for “money laundering.”
October 6, 2000, Trump pays $250,000 in fines for violating N.Y. State lobbying laws.
November 22, 2004, Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts filed for bankruptcy.
April, 2005, Trump Mortgage LLC was founded. By 2007, it had failed.
January 26, 2006, Trump launched GoTrump travel agency, which failed in 2007.
May 8, 2007, Trump launched Trump Steaks, which failed two months later.
September 9, 2014, Trump’s Entertainment Resorts filed for bankruptcy.
March 6, 2015, The Financial Enforcement Network fines Trump’s Taj Mahal Casino $10 million for “willful and repeated violations of the Bank Secrecy Act” (Money laundering.)
January 28, 2016, Trump held a fundraiser for veterans and raised $2.8 million which was funneled into Trump’s own charity and illegally used for his political campaign. He was caught and $2.8 million was eventually dispersed to actual veterans charities. Trump was forced to dissolve his Trump Foundation Charity because of misuse of funds, and ordered to pay $2 million to other, legitimate charities.
July 4, 2016, ‘Mafia’ Don, Donald Trump’s 40 years of Mob ties is published.
September, 2016, American Media Inc., the publisher of the National Enquirer pays Karen McDougal $150,000 to “catch and kill” a story about her 10 month affair with Trump.
October 7, 2016, The Access Hollywood tape is released where Trump describes sexually abusing women.
October 28, 2016, Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, paid Stormy Daniels $130,00 to keep quiet about her affair with Trump.
January 23, 2017, First lawsuit accusing Trump of violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. The second case was filed on June 14, 2017, both were dismissed as moot by the Supreme Court after Trump left office.
January 27, 2017, Trump issued his “Muslim ban,” which was overturned by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on February 9, 2017.
March 31, 2017, Trump University paid $25 million to settle class action lawsuits.
2017, After proclaiming that “all proceeds” from a golf tournament would go to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital, The Eric Trump Foundation diverted large payments to the Trump Organization hosting the event.
November 10, 2018, Trump tells his staffers that he doesn’t want to visit a U.S. military cemetery near Paris, because it was “filled with losers” and that those who were killed and injured were “suckers” because “there was nothing in it for them.”
December 21, 2018, In a dispute over his border wall, Trump shut down the federal government for a record, 36 days.
December 18, 2019 Trump is impeached for soliciting foreign interference in the 2016 election and obstruction of Congress.
January 2, 2021, Trump makes a call to Georgia Secretary of State pressuring him to “find 11,780 votes” for him.
January 6, 2021, Trump coordinates a large rally in Washington, D.C. and in a speech, tells the crowd to march to the Capitol and “We fight like hell. If you don’t fight like hell, you won’t have a country anymore.”
January 12, 2021, Trump is impeached for a second time for the incitement of the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
January 20, 2021, Trump leaves office with an astounding 30,573 documented false or misleading claims and a net U.S. job loss of nearly 3 million, the only President to oversee a job loss since this statistic has been compiled, in 1939.
January 4, 2022, Capitol police officers injured in the 1/6/2022 riot sue Trump.
May 3, 2022, Trump and his Inauguration Committee are ordered to pay $750,000 for misusing inauguration funds “to enrich his family.”
August 18, 2022, Trump Organization C.F.O., Allen Weisselberg pleads guilty to 15 felonies involving a 15 year long tax fraud scheme.
January 13, 2023, Trump Organization found guilty of 17 counts of fraud and tax evasion and fined $1.6 million.
May, 2023 Trump found guilty of sexually assaulting and defaming E. Jean Carroll and ordered to pay her $5 million.
June 8, 2023, Special Counsel, Jack Smith, files his original 37 count indictment against Trump in the stolen documents case.
August 1, 2023, A Federal Grand Jury indicts Trump for trying to overturn the 2020 election.
August 14, 2023, Trump and 18 others indicted for violating Georgia State laws in connection with efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
August 1, 2023, Trump is charged with four felonies in his attempt to overturn the 2020 election.
January, 2024, Trump is ordered to pay E. Jean Carroll an additional $83.3 million for defaming her again.
January 26, 2024, Trump Media and Technology becomes a publicly traded company by merging with an existing “acquisition” company. The company posted 1st quarter losses of $327 million with revenues of $770,500.
February 16, 2024, Trump is found guilty of fraud in New York and ordered to pay nearly $500 million in fines and interest.
April 11, 2024, Trump reportedly asks oil executives at a dinner in Mar a Lago to give him $1 billion in return for rolling back climate policies.
May 31, 2024, Trump found guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and election financing violations, and is currently awaiting sentencing.
