I moved to where I live now over the span of a week twenty years ago. I officially finished the move on September 18, 2004. The new place was close enough to the old one that I didn’t have to change phone numbers. I’ve had the same number since September of 1996.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. It's also so we can find other Kossacks nearby for in-person checks when other methods of communication fail - a buddy system. Members come here to check in. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we and your buddy are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

James Earl Jones has died, aged 93. I know he’s most famous for voicing Darth Vader, but how many of you have seen Swashbuckler? He was first mate on a pirate ship to Robert Shaw’s captain. They were a wonderful team in that movie. I think they were both having a lot of fun, especially as they were tossing lines of limericks back and forth while running away from soldiers trying to capture them.
I saw what Mark Hamill posted. It was a picture of James Earl Jones and said “RIP, Dad”.

Penzeys is having a good old time. I remember they provided some swag for a Netroots Nation or two several years back. I’m pretty sure their stores are being bought out. I had some of their stuff that aged out and I tossed it a few months back, but I have a lot more. Of their blends, I like the Bratwurst Blend best — I use it when I want to cook some baby back ribs, and on a baked potato with butter it’s sheer bliss.

Did anybody else see this about Elon Musk? I can’t think of anything rude enough to call him — self-absorbed, entitled prick comes the closest, but it’s too mild.
Apparently everybody saw this, but my comment still stands.

I’m getting a fair number of deliveries this week. My new sweatshirt arrived on Wednesday — it’s got a dragon on it and says “I love days when my only problem is which book to read”.
I have finally started sorting my magazine stash. A lot of them will go in the recycle bin, but I will undoubtedly keep a fair number as well.

Love you guys!
