Yesterday and this morning (and I’m sure I may have missed some) Mika Brzezinski, Nicole Wallace, and this morning Ali Velshi directly addressed the fact that Trump is really batshit crazy and whatever nuanced position Kamala Harris may or may not have on foreign policy or the economy doesn’t matter. The choice is binary and not unlike choosing between eating a decaying rat with a side of maggots or chicken. No one in their right mind would ask whether the chicken is grilled or fried. The term “sanewashing” is now being used. About time we stop worrying about policies, as if Trump actually has anything coherent to say about them, and point out the fact that one option is akin to driving off a cliff. There aren’t two sides here or any equivalence whatsoever, not pointing this out over and over again is irresponsible.
