I’d like to see the polling numbers on children in the United States, because judging by the hysteria from both sides of the aisle over getting a guy who’s polling at about 40% approval more Secret Service agents, you’d think kids must be ranked pretty low. I mean, nothing against Democratic politicians who brag about being gun owners, but where are our priorities?
If we aren’t going to do anything meaningful on guns (and we’re not), then why don’t we have a special branch of law enforcement dedicated solely to finding would-be school shooters, interviewing them, monitoring them, dis-arming them, getting them mandated psychological help, and then swooping in to encircle them before anything happens to our kids? It took three assassination attempts before we created the Secret Service. How many school shootings have there been? We don’t leave that work to the FBI when it comes to our presidential candidates. We don’t leave that work to the FBI when it comes to former presidents.
Why do we prioritize the lives of geriatric former presidents over our own kids in America?
What kind of society is this?
If you ask me, I’d say no more of our hard earned dollars for special protection for politicians until they either do something to reduce the number of guns in this country to reasonable levels or they get serious about protecting our kids with a special Secret Service style branch dedicated solely to finding school shooters before they act.
Politicians shouldn’t come before our kids in this country. DC politicians can get in line for special treatment and special protection as far as I’m concerned. And it’s a very long line, behind our kids, behind doctors and nurses, behind first responders, behind mothers, etc.
