This year is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reset Wisconsin’s state legislature, flip a chamber, and open a path to a blue trifecta—because, after years of struggle, democracy defeated the gerrymander. We’ve got fair maps now. Time to flip some seats.
On today’s edition of WisDems Starting Lineup, three cheers for Assembly District 92 candidate Joe Plouff.
Joe served as an Assemblymember from 1997 to 2005, and he believes an open mind is a valuable asset for any person responsible for public policy.
This February, AD92 was dramatically redrawn. Once made up of towns south of Eau Claire, AD92 now includes Chippewa Falls and Menomonie, turning the 92nd from a deep red to a slightly reddish toss-up—a great pickup opportunity for an Assembly veteran like Joe Plouff.
Joe has lived with his family in Western Wisconsin for more than 46 years. He’s a U.S. Army veteran and served on the Menomonie City Council and Dunn County Board of Supervisors.

During four terms in the WI State Assembly, Joe championed bills to control hazardous materials and to protect consumers, the Hay River Watershed, and custodial minors. He also served on the Veterans and Agriculture Committees, among others. Chip in to help Joe here.
Joe’s top priorities include keeping a clean and safe environment; protecting personal freedoms like same-sex marriage, reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ medical care, and creating common sense gun laws that don’t infringe on the 2nd Amendment.
If Joe Plouff wins Assembly District 92, the chance for a Democratic assembly majority this year leaps up—and so too does the path to a statewide law protecting the reproductive freedom of Wisconsinites.
Plouff’s opponent, GOP incumbent Clint Moses, co-authored a bill targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the UW System, and pushed a resolution cheering for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s inhumane tactics on the border, including using razor wire.
Clint Moses seems a lot more interested in waging a gridlock-worsening divisive culture war than he is in addressing the actual needs of his constituents. His caucus has underfunded public schools and pollution control while playing partisan games.
An Assembly vet like Joe Plouff knows how to end the chaos and inaction in the Wisconsin State Legislature. His experience, integrity, and independence make him the perfect leader to flip the 92nd.
Chip in and help Joe Plouff win here.
In Wisconsin this year, we’ve got Dems in 97 out of the 99 Assembly races and all 16 of the Senate races. We support them all. The GOP? Just 84/99 and 11/16.
Our Starting Lineup races are the closest. Wins would end the GOP Assembly majority & break the Senate supermajority.
