I debated whether to post this, but Daily Kos has been such a factor in my life the past decade I figured I owed it to anyone who wondered why I stopped posting.
I just posted my last story. It’s been such a great journey on this train, but this is where I get off. I’m taking a break from blogs and playing with new formats, like video platforms, because that works better with my new schedule. A short TikTok video is almost effortless, reaches thousands, and is fun to do. I can feel like I’m contributing without putting countless hours into missives. However, those platforms are limited: you can’t do the deep-dives that I have thoroughly enjoyed on numerous topics.
I should also point out that I’ve finally left Florida. I moved back home to Virginia to spend my final years with family.
DKos has been great. I started here way back in 2006, where I simultaneously ran a Florida blog until 2015—a total of nine years. At the end of that year I became a paid contributer to DailyKos, where I continued until recently—another nine years. Who knows what the next nine years will bring?
I see the strong new talent emerging on this site along with the old guards, and I know it will continue for years to come. I will probably drop in from time to time.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. I’ve truly appreciated the connections and conversations we’ve shared. Your voices and insight will carry us through to victory in November and beyond, and I’m so here for it :)
