Just a quick thought…
I love that our team finally has a solid media message game going. The recent ads that Team Blue has been dropping are brilliant.
I was so happy to see us come out of the gate strong, with a simple but effective dismissal of the failures on the other side, one which boiled down to a single word - WEIRD.
It has worked beautifully, as it has allowed us to deflect all the bile spit at us frim the Right by employing a mocking tone that has left the red hats sputtering. "We're not weird, they're weird. She laughs and stuff."
This has certainly knocked them on their back foot, and lent an air of strength and confidence to our campaign. The debate brought that into full view for all.
But with the stakes so high, and the downside so dark, is this approach in danger of wearing thin? Is this response still resonating with the masses?
Don't get me wrong, I am SO PLEASED with where we've taken this so far, but with just 50 or so days left, I'm wondering if we need to consider a more sober stance as we approach the finish line.
I really don't know. Just chewing on it and I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts.
If we were to move into a new phase of messaging, what ideas would you like to see?
