“By cultivating the light within, the mind becomes serene.” Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, 1:32-36
According to spiritual beliefs, an aura or energy field is a colored emanation said to enclose a human body or any animal or object.[1] In some esoteric positions, the aura is described as a subtle body.[2] Psychics and holistic medicine practitioners often claim to have the ability to see the size, color and type of vibration of an aura.wikipedia
Each human being is surrounded by an electromagnetic field (EMF) or biofield that is generated by the processes of life. Electricity is the universal language that allows the atoms, molecules, cells, organs and tissues of our bodies to communicate with each other. The cumulative product of that physiological energy forms a dynamic shell encircling our bodies.

The Human Energy Field (HEF) extends beyond the boundaries of the physical body and is contiguous with environmental energy. The HEF is of an extremely low frequency (ELF) but can be measured by MEG (Magnetoencephalography) and MCG (Magnetocardiography). Studies have estimated the human whole-body fundamental resonant frequency to be between 5-10 Hz.
It’s long been acknowledged that in face-to-face interpersonal communication the spoken word is only a fraction of the information conveyed. Nonverbal cues, such as body language and tone of voice provide much more intel during the interaction.
But there may be an even deeper level of interconnection - through the EM fields of the participators’ hearts (Anahata chakra). A sympathetic heart-to-heart resonance could theoretically amplify an exchange, creating a positive interaction. When we ‘click’ with someone we say we are ‘in tune’ or ‘in sync’ or ‘on the same wavelength’. Conversely, there are those with whom we are ‘out of sync’ or with whom we have a ‘negative affinity’. The presence of EM fields is implied in our vocabulary.
Resonance is a well-documented property of all systems, from the smallest structures such as quarks to the largest - planets and galaxies. The primary resonant frequency of the Earth, aka ‘Earth’s heartbeat’, is formed by a repeating ELF wave pattern generated by lightning bouncing between the ground and the ionosphere. This frequency is around 7.83 Hz, which also corresponds to the EMF of muscle contraction and brain activity. So it’s possible, likely even, that the EM fields of the human body are affected by the atmospheric and geophysical processes of Earth. IOW, there is an electrical connection between us and Mother Earth.
Additionally, it’s been observed that organic molecules with similar properties resonate at similar frequencies, and living cells then use these vibrations to communicate, reproduce and regenerate. This suggests the existence of a subtle, vital energy (which encompasses the concepts of consciousness, thoughts and feelings that have been largely excluded from contemporary medical models) that interfaces with physical reality and is an untapped source of maintaining homeostasis and healing.

Early in the 20th Century, it was discovered that biophotons are generated by living systems, including our own bodies. Biophotons are particles of light that are emitted in the ultraviolet and low visible light wavelength ranges. Biophotons are released through the skin and radiate a type of bioluminescence that envelop us in cocoon of light (UPE, ultra-weak photon emission), a cocoon that is rarely visible to the human eye. We are literally beings of light!

Since the phenomenon of human bioluminescence has been established, it’s intriguing to consider what information might be encoded in the UPE field and if that information can be utilized to promote well-being and recovery from illness. Whether the human aura provides any indication of the state of biological tissues is still under investigation though. It certainly does, however, offer far-reaching promise and merits further research.
Representations of light surrounding a human form, such auras, halos, aureoles, nimbuses and prabhamandalas, have appeared in art throughout history. Perhaps the scientific acknowledgement of human bioluminescence is nothing more than a rediscovery of ancient knowledge.

OTOH, alternative explanations for observed auric phenomena have been proposed. Optical illusions, such as afterimages, as well as pathologies like epilepsy, migraines and disorders of the visual system have been suggested. It’s even been speculated that the use of hallucinogenic drugs could be a factor. But none of these hypotheses explain the ability of otherwise ‘normal’ people to sometimes see the Human Energy Field.
The matrix of every living cell is comprised of charged particles that are in constant motion. These charged particles direct the flow of energy throughout the body. They manage exchanges of information between molecules and regulate the chemical transformations necessary to maintain the conditions for life. In turn, these physiological processes produce dynamic electromagnetic fields that surround living systems, including us.
If the outer light is indeed a reflection of the inner light, advancements in technology could provide the catalyst needed to revolutionize our understanding of the Human Energy Field (aura) and to align scientific knowledge with ancient wisdom. The possibilities for medicinal and spiritual breakthroughs are Cosmic!

So is life nothing more than a series of electrical impulses, a soup of biochemical activity? Or is there more to the story? What are your thoughts?
Have you ever seen an aura surrounding a person or an animal a pet or even a plant? What are the implications for the existence of auras? How does our luminescent sheathe connect us to the Earth, the Stars and to the Universe?
