So now all the holiday decorations are put away, mom left out a few she calls seasonal, like the ceramic tile of cardinal pair on snowy branches and a really pretty arrangement of glass shaped birds with pale blue feathers inside and shiny bells of pale blue and green.
And did it ever seem like a long, long week between Christmas and New Year’s, like an eternity…
Hoomin doesn’t make New Year’s Resolutions, she says so much needs to be resolved, especially these days—where to begin?
Then mom found this, she said too bad it isn’t real, too many people of a certain political party could use such training.
And mom said this is a great Friday because its not only Save the Eagles day, which fortunately we’ve been doing for several decades now,
its also Bitter Sweet Chocolate day, though not as sweet as dark chocolate, speaking of dark chocolate, hoomin says time to get some more.
Mom’s been curling into her cuddle corner on the couch which has a big fleece jacket spread out to help keep her warm on the sofa while watching tv winter evenings, I like to sit on the camel back of the sofa just above her head watching the glow of the space heater, so very pretty.
Mom says she’ll go out for her dark chocolate by Friday and as for calendars saying she gave up and ordered only a few, says for 2025 she’s made a note to start ordering calendars, a few anyway, before the end of 2025. Mom says she just has this compulsion for new calendars every year—just can’t help herself.
So as her calendars should be here Friday, then if she gets her chocolate--will mom ever have a good day, dare I say it a Fridaii for fe-line fine.
In the outside nature category, spotted a blue-jay again the other day—such bright colors; have confirmed there are two male cardinals coming to the bird bath for a drink as both were together the other day and as suspected, confirmed this morning some of our feathered friends not only come by for a drink—and also to eat the feral cat food on the patio.
