Sat Jan 18 DC March Be There or Be Square

I made these in my kitchen.

Nobody on DK seems to be pushing the January 18th People’s March on DC, so I decided it must be up to little old me.

I am a Luddite, but I am trying. 

Gandhi, MLK, Chavez, my own mother, and her mother too , have persuaded me that taking to the streets in peaceful protest is a necessary and effective step to work for justice.

Project 2025 is evil.
And if we don’t resist it, we are complicit.
John Lewis conjured us to “Make good trouble” and I take that seriously.

We are the 99%
Our strength is in numbers.
We show our strength when we show up to protest.
We show our resilience when we persist.
And if we don’t resist it we are complicit.

If you think women have the right to own their own bodies
March with us.
If you are opposed to child labor
March with us.
If you think workers have the right to organize
March with us.
If you are opposed to concentration camps for immigrants and dreamers
March with us.
If you want climate justice
March with us.
If you want no one to be above the law
March with us.

Mr Sweet and I are somewhere between our first youth and our second childhood, but tfg II is the last accursed straw!
We are gimpy, but we have a portable chair and walking sticks and we are not afraid to use them!

We can still march.

There are satellite marches all over, including NYC and Newark NJ.
The LA march was canceled due to the climate catastrophe.
