Yet another Trump 'management of the floor' lie to be repeated during the next SoCal wildfire
This whopper involves the giant spigot in the Pacific Northwest. Water supply is not the issue with regional planning designed for smaller numbers of structure fires. Trump just gets stupider. He did not send the army into California to "turn the water on." He is lying to normalize the idea of the military being sent to states. This is propaganda.

In this total lie, falsely claiming he has given California unlimited water, Trump normalizes the idea that the military "entering" a blue state at his command has magically solved an environmental problem.
Incredibly dangerous stuff, as #climatechange accelerates.

Officials from various state agencies, as well as academics and experts, also issued statements Monday evening that disputed claims by Trump and other Republicans who say that policies on the environment and other areas had hindered efforts to fight the fires, saying that reservoirs in the Los Angeles area had enough water in storage to battle the fires and meet other needs.
“Water supply has not hindered firefighting efforts," said the Association of California Water Agencies. "Reservoirs in California are at or above average storage levels for this time of year, thanks in part to years of proactive water management.”
Several experts specifically addressed Trump's repeated claim that a "valve" could be turned on to direct water southward from Northern California, and he complains that Gov. Gavin Newsom and environmentalists are preventing that from happening.
"It’s difficult to explain what he’s talking about because nobody knows what he’s talking about.," said John Buse, general counsel for the Center for Biological Diversity. "The idea of a valve and water will just flow is preposterous.”

Trump saw the movie “Chinatown” and now thinks he’s an expert on the water systems in Southern California.

Trump: "I'm signing an executive order to open up the pumps and valves in the north. We want to get that water pouring down here as quickly as possible ... you're talking about unlimited water coming up from the Pacific Northwest, even coming from parts of Canada."

Trump: "In California, millions of gallons of waters are waiting to be poured down through already the half pipes that are already built. I mean, they've been up for 40 years and about 20 years ago they turned off the water. And it's the water that comes from the Pacific Northwest."
