Here we go again…
I have yet another target on my back. First, it was the “trans-ideology is equal to extremism, so I must be a terrorist” BS. Now, it’s “Atheists are anti-Christian, so they must be extremists and terrorists, too!” Yeah, equally BS. Added onto that, just for sauce, is the idea that anyone who supports antifascism (antifa), supports racial equality, and fairness for immigrants is somehow an “extremist”. What kind of clown-world are these nitwits living in?
Basically the story is, Dumpy the Clown has signed a new memo, long-windedly called the “National Security Presidential Memorandum/NSPM-7” and it has some… choice language in it that declares a rather vague and wide-ranging selection of people as potential enemies of the state. I’ll quote a bit of the memo, here (I’ll share a video from my favourite atheist vlogger, The Friendly Atheist, in a bit, he goes into this thing in a bit more detail than I will). After carping a bit about how anti-fascists are somehow a threat (LOL), the memo goes on about other, more specific (non)“threats”:
“Common threads animating this conduct include, anti-Americanism, anti-Capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States government; extremism on migration, race and gender; and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, morality and religion.”
What. The. Actual. FUCK. Is this shit? “...”extremism on migration, race and gender”? Do you mean wanting fairness and empathy shown to immigrants, LGBTQA+ people and POC? THAT kind of “extremism”? Accepting that trans people exist and should get the same rights as everybody else? That kind of “extremism”? What the holy embedded bigotry, Batman?
And, what are they blithering on about in regards to “anti-Christianity? Are they trying to say atheists without actually saying atheists? Do they mean people who might have a different religion than Christian? What if you just criticize religious followers who commit vile crimes against children, of which there are so, so many that we constantly keep hearing about them literally every freaking day? I’m not kidding. If you were to type into your browser any date of the year and the words ”pastor indicted for”… and let the search engine finish the phrase for you, the results would be… illuminating.
But, it gets worse. The memo has a provision for allowing the FBI to monitor non-profits that may have opposing views to some governmental policies, or might be seen as being against religion (atheist advocacy groups), or are essentially just well-organized protestors. Protestors could end up being under surveillance for their anti-Trump views, non-profits could be monitored because they might be atheist legal advocacy offices, like Freedom From Religion Foundation, for one.
I think they might just go after “official” non-profits, first, smaller ones at the beginning, then the larger, more moneyed ones (as Mr. Mehta describes above), later, then possibly go after more powerful individuals later. I don’t know if the guy just posting simple blogs online such as Hemant Mehta (the Friendly Atheist, who’s video I post here) will get grabbed until far down the line, but he will eventually be on the list, once the bigger fish are taken.
A quick aside: Fascism can’t stand to be laughed at. I saw some hilarious images from Portland yesterday, where folks were mocking ICE by dressing up as clowns and marching in formation with them when they were forming up in the streets. We need more protests like that. Any time the Gestapo shows up, just… mock them. Don’t touch them, don’t throw anything at them, don’t say anything to them. Just ape everything they’re doing, play it up all serious, like, but in silly costumes, like the Portland guys are doing. It might get you beaten up or tased, but it might be worth it to see them lose their composure and it might save some immigrants from getting grabbed because they waste their time dealing with us freaks in clown outfits. Like they say: Keep Portland Weird!
Anyway, I’m going off track, sorry. As I said, fascism can’t stand to be laughed at. It needs to control everything. It insists upon expanding. So it has to see enemies everywhere, so it attacks everything that isn’t just like it. That’s what Hitler’s Germany did: it declared anyone who didn’t fit the “Aryan ideal” as an enemy” or a “terror threat”, and had them rounded up and sent to the camps. That’s exactly what Dumpy the Clown is doing. He’s rounding up the immigrants and anyone with skin-tone darker than a paper bag. Now, he’s going after the ideological “enemies”: antifa, trans people, atheists, non-Christians, people who support fairness in the treatment of POC, LGBTQA+ people, immigrants and the poor and he’s going to go after Democrats and Socialists.
We’re in secret police territory. Our own Stazi. I wonder when people will start ratting on each other like they used to do in Partitioned Germany or in Soviet Russia, in order to survive.
So, I put it to you: when are you going to stand on your two hind legs and fight back? How are you going to fight back? The Nazis are HERE. They might not be at your personal door, yet, but they’re coming. You know what? Maybe a bunch of folks need to invest in a collection of clown outfits to protest in. Make it a movement. Whenever ICE or some other “official” clown show steps out, show them exactly what we think of them: they’re clowns. Let’s imitate them with bright outfits, silly hats and the brightest, loudest colours we can scape together. Make them look as ridiculous as we see them.
Protests are still legal, for now, so why not go to one, if you’re able? There’s one coming up, soon: No Kings. To find a group near you who might be having a march, just go to the main page, find the map, insert your zip code, and find the closet blivet on the map (it’s interactive and expands) to your city, and plan for the day. It’s On October 18th, it’s a Saturday—most meet ups are around noon, so most folks won’t be working, that day, so hopefully, you’ll be able to have that day off. Last I saw the map (yesterday), it looks like it’s filling up pretty good, so we hopefully will get nearly as many people as we had the first time (6 to 9 million marching). Numbers matter! Let’s make it happen!
I will still be in the country until at least the middle of next year (assuming I don’t get taken by the Gestapo, that is), and I’m packing up my stuff bit by bit daily. I’ll be getting all my papers to get back into Canada together as soon as I can. So, until then, I’ll be going to what protests I can make it to (maybe even dressed as a clown. We’ll see if that spreads LOL) and writing a few blogs. Dunno if I’ll have access to the net in Canuckistan, as I’ll be pretty low on money, there, sorry. So I might go techno-silent for a while.
