Europe has aided Ukraine, and Russia launched minor stresses — and threatened military attacks — in retaliation. Ukraine, however, is protecting Europe from the attacks that Russia threatens.
1_ “You and what army?” The Russian army is bogged down in Ukraine. As long as that is true, a Russian attack against a Nato country could not find enough troops.
2) Russia is trying to increase its arms production to overwhelms the defenders against its proposed atttacks. Meanwhile, Ukraine is striking Russian Defense industrial Base.
3) Ukraine has also both attacked Russian stockpiles of arms and ammunition.
4) Russia uses up supplies of ammunition in its invasion.
To make one of most of these points in a letter to the editor (LTE), you should probably cite a recemt particular attack.

I wrote a LTE to the Chicago Sun-Times on October 9. It said:
Ukraine fights Russia, aside from defending on the battlefield, by attacking its means to make war: arms makers, railroads which ship arms to the front, refineries that fuel the assault and supplies. Russia fights Ukraine, aside from the battlefield, by shelling and bombing civilians and their hospitals and schools. Aside from being violations of international law, Russia's strategy depends on frightening their enemies into giving up. It is hard to identify a case in history where that aim has worked. It certainly doesn't seem like it is working for Russia.
If you gave written a LTE on the invasion, mention it in a comment on this post.
