It’s Wednesday! Does that mean anything in particular?

It does this Wednesday. Because yesterday was “Election Day” the last day of balloting!

In other words, it was content creation day for Greg Dworkin, who’ll now join us to round up the results. Even though you probably know most of them already.

It’s been a while since we didn’t have to suppress nausea during a post-election Wednesday! This is gonna be a good one!

Today’s countdown numbers:

• It’s Day 36 of the shutdown. We’ve broken the record for longest shutdown in history! (And that probably had something to do with those election results.)
• 1,172 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
• 363 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
• 424 days—if we have those elections—until we seat that new Congress.

Our random country generator says, today’s an unlucky day for: Yemen!

Well, that could easily be true. It could be happening right now! Although I’ll be we’re not calling it an invasion.

I don't think we’ve actually given any thought to what we’d do if a country came up and Trump ordered or threatened a “kinetic action” there, but refused to acknowledge it as an invasion.

I assume we’d just assume he was wrong and/or lying, and declare the “prediction” a “success.”

Ha ha! Oh, well. That’s Our Trump!™
