I send dead tree holiday cards

My niece: Aunty, why did you send a physical card?  No one does that any more.  Everyone just sends email.

Me: Did getting it make you smile?

Niece: Yes

Me: That’s why I sent it. 

I have cards for solstice, yule, secular holiday, Hannukah, Diwali, Eid, etc.

It takes more time to get, address and send a physical holiday card. Even if you send in bulk like I do. I hand address, which means my hand shakes, But it is from me.

It takes more thought too.

It also helps the postal service. 

Maybe it’s a little sunshine for someone in this darkening world.
