Spirited Debate Anticipated at Noon on February 19 on Future and Sustainability of SWP
At a time that disinformation about California water is proliferating on social media, the Southern California Water Dialogue will sponsor a discussion between California Water Impact Network board member Max Gomberg and State Water Contractors general manager Jennifer Pierre on the value, challenges and impacts of the State Water Project, the massive conveyance system that delivers water from the Sacramento/San Joaquin Delta to Southern California.
The Zoom webinar will be held from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19.

“C-WIN and many others have long been concerned about the operation of the SWP and its impacts on ratepayers, communities, tribes, and the environment,” said Gomberg in a press advisory. “We are also alarmed by the current state proposal to build a $20+ billion tunnel to increase SWP deliveries and Trump administration actions that could negatively impact communities served by the SWP. I anticipate a robust discussion of these critical issues with Ms. Pierre, and l look forward to the Q&A with participants.”
