Eugene put out a piece on the Washington Post Thursday titled: "These Republicans Should Be Ashamed of Themselves." He said that Trump tramples on the Constitution and he's making unacceptable choices for his administration.
But that wasn't all of it. Mr. Robinson made an appearance on MSNBC's Morning Joe.
Apparently Trump was watching MSNBC as the Truth Social post came out at 6:40 a.m.
Robinson was part of a discussion with Andrew Natsois, USAID's former administrator. He was highly critical of Musk and Trump's shutdown of the agency.
"I don't think people realize where the money goes. The money goes to dozens and dozens of evangelical Roman Catholic, International Orthodox Christian charities. The NGO of my church, the Orthodox Church, gets millions of dollars of aid funding," said Natsois.
Not to be left out, Robinson added:
"... it looks to me as if Musk has chosen AID as a kind of demonstration project, just to see how we can destroy an agency and demoralize the rest of the federal workforce."
The article link above has most of the discussion, but you get the gist.
Earlier, I did a diary called Trump USAID rant. He posted this 9 minutes after that one. It was an all caps doozy. Trump was so worked up after that one that he couldn't help himself.
"Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post is INCOMPETENT!" When your own competency is in great question, it's probably better not to say anything at all. You certainly seem to have gone off the deep end more since you've become president because you feel you can say anything you want and there are no consequences.
"So sad to see him justifying the waste, fraud, and corruption at USAID with his pathetic Radical Left SPIN." Well, at least he made "radical left" an adjective this time. You should talk about spin, when every single spokesperson you've got is a spin doctor, starting with Karoline Leavitt. And she's not very good at it either. We all need to get one of those grocery pumps.
And then of course the coup de gras, "He should be fired immediately!!!" Triple exclamation point again. He's really bent out of shape this time.
I can't read The Washington Post article because it's behind a paywall, but a reprint from 2019 gave me a good idea of what Eugene thinks of Trump.
"It's not unfair to point out that President Trump, on many important subjects, is a complete ignoramus."
"A vivid illustration of this unfortunate fact came this week in London, when it was revealed that Prince Charles, a knowledgeable environmentalist, had tried to educate the president on climate change and utterly failed."
Donald Trump is a failure in so many ways. He doesn't know how to communicate properly. He needs instruction on the proper use of exclamation points.
As he rages at everything that doesn't go his way, and as the criticism mounts, his blood pressure must be peaking and the worst may befall him.
Keep it up, Eugene!
