Keeping up with the chaos is a full time job. The NY Times has reporters attempting to document what the Trump (and Musk) administration is up to on a daily basis.
The New York Times is tracking the actions and significant statements of President Trump and his administration during the first 100 days of Mr. Trump’s second term. This page will be updated daily.
* full access link. The day number will change as the toll goes up to 100
This looks like a good start. It’s set up so daily entries can be filtered by categories, and by action/announcement. (One comment suggests it would be useful to identify which come right out of Project 2025.)
Just scrolling through the listings for each day is a quick way to review — and they are linked to more detailed information. It’s worth a look just to see what’s been happening since it’s too easy to miss something in the firehose of shit flooding the zone.
The section of The NY Times devoted to this is under the label Trump Administration
There are additional coverage sections across the top of the web page:
Updates: This appears to be quick way to find the day’s Trump Administration news items.
Tracking The Major Moves: this is the list of day by day items as described above.
Fact-Checking Claims: an attempt to document some of the biggest lies coming from the administration.
Federal Budget Showdown: tracking the ways the administration has taken away Congressional control of the federal budget.
Tracking Trump’s Cabinet Confirmations: this is a list of the nominees, including the votes on the ones that have been confirmed. This is useful because there are links that show which Senators voted Yea or Nay. It’s also depressing because it shows how many Democrats rolled over to vote for these nominees. You might want to look at confirmation votes and see how your own Senator voted. The only excuse Democratic Senators have for everyone of them voting for Marco Rubio as Secretary of State is that it gets him out of the Senate. As for the rest...
This being The NY Times the articles attached to the links are mostly passive-voice, but overall it’s the kind of reporting that’s needed. The problem is — as the title on this diary notes — finding this. By rights there should be a prominent header on the front page every day above the fold that tells where to find this, and link to it. It’s irritating things like this that have led me to cancel my subscription. Maybe I’ve just overlooked this until now — feel free to correct me in comments if you’ve been able to find it.
As my subscription runs out today, I’m going to use up my gift articles with a few stories grabbed off the front page of the 2-8-25 digital edition.
