It’s Thursday, and this time, I think we’re gonna be able to manage our audio during the show!
We walked straight into another technical glitch yesterday, deciding to prepare for a test of Zoom as a replacement for Skype, but not intending to use it until we’d figured out exactly how we’d need to tweak it for use on the air. Which tweaking we intended to do off the air.
But… one thing led to another, and there was a computer involved, so it all unraveled itself just as we were going live, and the only way we could make it work was a trial by fire for Zoom!
And I would say we were pretty well roasted, too!
Nevertheless, Greg Dworkin persisted, and will persist again, today, too. As long as we’ve already crashed and burned in front of everybody, we might as well accept it, and forge ahead until we get it right out of necessity!
Today’s countdown numbers:
- 2 days until the “legal” funding for what’s left of the United States government runs out
- 1,409 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
- 600 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
- 661 days—if we have those elections—until we seat a new Congress
The Invasion Bingo random country generator says today’s an unlucky day for: Laos!
Well… we’ve done it before, so…. But to be fair, that’s true of a lot of the world. We’ll say this: at the moment, there’s very little reason to think Laos will have their number called today, and I’m sure that’s just fine with them.
I say we leave it that way.
