Every day I look at the news with a new sense of disbelief in what is going on in America. Every day, I think it can’t get any worse, but then it does. Every day, a new layer of evil is revealed. A once great nation is being systematically dismembered by Musk and Trump’s other cronies and is gradually being turned into a failed state. 

Human rights and freedom of speech crushed, democratic values and the courts ignored, the destruction of alliances that have worked to keep America and the world safe, the rejection of science and the approval of the destruction of the environment for profit...every day, another awful headline.

I grew up in a world where America could be looked up to and trusted as a country that stood for what is right and fought for justice, but that has suddenly gone. America now seems like a very unreliable partner and it cannot be trusted.

Now we are in a world of dictators, tyrants and oligarchs, who will divide up the world between themselves and treat the people like slaves...”Welcome to Trumptopia! All kneel before your king!” I’m sure his sidekick Musk will saying this soon.

Will the damage to America over the next 18 months or so be too severe for the midterms to give us hope? Or, will it be the price of eggs that finally spells the end for Trump and Musk?
