I think one of the smartest moves the Dems are doing is holding town hall meetings in districts where Repubs are refusing to have them. You know, that “stop-town-hall-meetings” directive House Speaker Johnson gave because Loser told him the Repubs are getting their asses handed to them and Johnson always kisses his ass.
The American people want answers and what better way than a personal meeting with a congressman that’s not going to lie to them. We’re certainly not, and can’t, get the whole story from 30 second TV sound bites and long-winded editorials in newspapers that nobody reads anymore. The Repub atrocities are so voluminous (witness the headlines we see every day) that no media could cover it in one venue even if they wanted to.
Hell, never before have Americans been more amenable to hearing the truth - - - and never before have we had the luxury of not being shouted down by Repub lies. Think of it, in the past if the Dems held a town hall, all they got were complaints about what the Dems weren’t doing right. Switch the tables!
The lovable Gov. Tim Walz said he is going to Iowa soon. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren (don’t you just love them too) are doing it, and their crowds are huge. Let’s hear from all the governors. Let’s hear from all of our State and Federal legislators.
Let’s say the Repubs wise up and begin to hold meetings again. So what. This time their pissed off voters are actually susceptible to seeking the truth. But we have to go first. And because they heard from us first they’ll be able to contrast Loser’s lies with the truths they just heard from us. Then the Dems should also show up at their meetings and make “good trouble.”
Americans love debates. Especially debates that don’t devolve into shouting matches that go nowhere. Think of them as campaign debates without any restraints by inept sponsors and mediators. Will the Repubs try to spin the Dem meetings as paid agitators? Sure. Who cares? If we’ve learned anything it’s that the loudest, most obnoxious and most numerous, who win the day. Those who seek the truth (and that’s what’s finally happening here) will find it.
The first few weeks of Loser 2.0 has been nothing but overwhelming shock and chaos. Let’s show the Repubs and oligarchs some of the same. For example, they have four years to make Soc. Sec. and Medicare look bad so they can privatize them, and they’ve already started. I submit that that should be number one on our list, and everything else is just a filler. The midterms are coming soon, so start campaigning now. Like Loser did in his first term and still does. Every. Damned. Day. That’s his M.O.
Come on Kossacks, get united. Call your Democratic Congress Critters and tell them to get into their campaign mode. Get them to hold town hall meetings – preferably in Repub districts – and then show up in droves! Tell them to explain what Loser and his thugs are doing. Just like Walz, Sanders and Warren are doing. There will be no shortage of material, Loser still invents new crises every day.
